Experience Austria Tours

The Austrian Wind Energy Association in cooperation with Solvento energy consulting gmbH offers you the opportunity to experience Austria’s first small wind testing area the day before EWEA 2013. This is your chance to experience this premier project in the field of small wind turbines in Austria.

The „Energieforschungspark Lichtenegg“

The tour takes you to the „Energieforschungspark Lichtenegg“, which was established in summer 2011 in Lower Austria to study the products of 8-10 different small wind manufacturers concerning performance, safety and long term durability. The geographical position (800 meter above sea level) and the average annual wind speed of 5 m/s (height at 19 m) at the site promise optimal testing conditions for small wind turbines.

Wind turbine viewing platform

Furthermore there is the possibility to visit one of the few wind turbine viewing platforms worldwide. The Enercon E-66 with a capacity of 1,8 MW has an implemented viewing platform and is situated next to the “Energieforschungspark Lichtenegg”. At a height of 60 meters you can experience stunning views over the testing area and the surrounding landscape.
